Part 1: Day 0 – Opening
Part 2: Day 1 – Apple TV
Part 3: Day 2- Hulu Plus
Part 4: Day 3-5 Netflix
Part 5: Day 6-7 – Conclusion
I’ve just finished day 5 of my trip with Apple TV and I can honestly say I don’t miss Comcast at all. I’m still itching to watch some new Science / Discovery programming though, Netflix only has older episodes of shows on those networks. Still, Netflix has been way better to me than Hulu Plus- the selection is huge and varied enough for just about anyone to find something they like.
If you’re considering the Apple TV, Netflix seems like a must have unless you have the most extensive iTunes library in the world. If it weren’t for Netflix, I’m not sure I could warrant cutting Comcast. Without Netflix, the Apple TV would just be a YouTube machine.
I’m very satisfied with my Apple TV and it seems like Netflix is a huge part of that. If it weren’t for Netflix, I don’t think I could cut Comcast. Having to buffer when your connection speed dips is a bit frustrating, but that’s more of the nature of the beast rather than of Netflix itself. For my last few days, I’m gonna try out getting things directly from iTunes and dig into YouTube and Vimeo a bit more.
